MEIG MASTER OF ADVANCED STUDIES EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL GOVERNANCE MEIG Partnerships

a remarkable asset

Ms. Shadeisha George-Mattis, MEIG Graduate 2023-2024, St. Vincent and the Grenadines

The MEIG Programme represents the coming together of global citizens from disparate cultures with stimulating ideas, fueling debates on a multiplicity of issues relating to: global governance mechanisms; the reformation of international organizations; the challenges of integration; respect for the environment; the (de)merits of migration, and the prioritization of public health. It is an invaluable experience that lends itself to meaningful exchanges between presenters and participants who are curious about the way in which international relations are facilitated and/or hampered.

Thus, in many ways, the MEIG Programme is an academic laboratory that lays the theoretical groundwork for students to clarify and assess global trends. There is also a unique empirical dimension to the programme that offers participants the opportunity to visit the organizations that are specifically linked to all ten modules of focus. Here, the various interactions that take place in the halls of these institutions grant participants the opportunity to ask questions that perhaps can only be answered by those who have been placed in the position to lead. The MEIG Programme is a remarkable asset that I am pleased to have as part of my academic toolkit.
